Over the last few weeks, the only place that’s being widely talked about in India and across the world is Ayodhya Ram Mandir, a popular Hindu temple located in Ayodhya, in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is constructed on the land which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama in Hinduism and which was once a disputed land until the Supreme Court of India’s 2019 verdict that declared the land to be handed over to Hindus for the construction of Ram Temple.

The historic temple was consecrated and witnessed a grand opening on January 22, 2024, and the Pran Pratishta (meaning ‘Life-infusing’) ceremony of Ram Lalla (‘Lord Rama’ as fondly addressed by people) was presided over by the Prime Minister of India and in the presence of thousands of devotees and special invitees who thronged to witness the temple inauguration.

Air travelers can book flights to the Ayodhya Airport (also renamed as Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham (MVIAA)) from almost every major Indian city. Inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on December 30, 2023, the airport is located around 15 kms away from the main city of Ayodhya and is connected to the city via Taxis and Auto Rickshaws. The airport is also being expanded to accommodate international flights. Besides, the visitors can also take flights to surrounding cities such as Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gaya, Jabalpur, etc., and thereby travel via road.

Numerous public and private transport services are available 24/7 to reach the land of Lord Rama directly or via major connecting cities. However, the travel time differs as per the location of the departure city.

The refurbished Ayodhya Dham Railway Station was also inaugurated on December 30 and it is well connected to the different railway zones in various states and cities.
